Crossing the Rio Grande is more than crossing a river. It is a totally different way of life. Mexico being literally our neighbors to the south we find many of them dreaming of running water, electricity, and food on the table. While they have a need for the necessities of life, there is even a greater hunger for the WORD OF GOD.
Since 1968, Wiley Ministries has opened over 40 Mexico Missions (village churches) and has placed 16 native pastors over these works. Currently, they are overseeing 9 Native Pastors who are pastoring 25 villages missions. The Wileys also oversee Eagles' Nest Orphanage founded in 2001, which is located 180 miles south of the most southern tip of Texas. Jerry Wiley has been flying mission trips in Mexico since 1974 and along with two other pilots in Mexico founded Mercy Wings in 1999 in an effort to reach the unreachable by air. Eagles' Nest Church was founded in 2003 with a vision to reach the city of Soto la Marina, Tamaulipas, and surrounding area. This Church has growned now to over 300 members. Eagles' Nest Christian Academy was founded in 2005 with 39 students enrolled. This school made history being the first and only Christian Jr. High School in Soto la Marina.
There are always construction projects in progress. Some of these projects have funds already appropiated, and all that is needed are laborers to do the work. Consider bringing a missions work team to help in those projects. As of November 2008 there are on site accomodations in the Eagles' Nest Visitor Center.
